James Price, MBA, President & CEO
James Price is the President & CEO of the Canadian Stem Cell Foundation and has been active in advancing stem cell research and development for more than a decade. James was the Founding President of Aggregate Therapeutics Inc. — a development-stage regenerative medicine company — and was previously a Director of the Stem Cell Network. Prior to working in the stem cell field, James was a Principal in the Corporate Strategy practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was involved in several projects in new company creation, technology commercialization and research and development, including the business case for the creation of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the strategic research plan for the University Health Network, and assisting the Rick Hansen Institute to establish the Rick Hansen Spinal Cord Injury Network.
Susan DeLisle, Director of Development
Susan DeLisle joined the Canadian Stem Cell Foundation as Director of Development in January 2013 and is located in our Toronto satellite office. Susan leads the overall development, implementation and management of our major gifts and corporate philanthropy programs. Susan has more than 10 years of major gifts fundraising experience in the academic health sector including senior positions with Trillium Health Centre Foundation, McMaster University, Oakville Hospital Foundation and Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation of Toronto. Prior to her professional career in fundraising, Susan had several years of private sector experience in the technology sector.
Eileen Emmonds, Executive Assistant
Eileen Emmonds is Executive Assistant to the President & CEO of the Canadian Stem Cell Foundation and is located in our Ottawa office. Eileen has been supporting stem cell initiatives for the past eight years with the Canadian Stem Cell Foundation, Aggregate Therapeutics and the Stem Cell Network. Prior to that, Eileen worked with the Conference Board of Canada for nearly 20 years, the last five years of which were as Executive Assistant to the President & Chief Executive Officer.
Yuliya Shcherbina, Communications Programs Officer
Yuliya Shcherbina joined the Canadian Stem Cell Foundation in January 2014 through the AIESEC international internship program to support our Communications Programs. Yuliya is a recent Master’s graduate in International Relations. Prior to joining the team in our Ottawa office, Yuliya worked as a Climate Associate at Joint Venture Silicon Valley Network and was involved in different projects with the Climate Institute in Washington, DC. She also has experience as an External Relations Representative in the private sector in her home country of Italy.
Joe Sornberger, Director of Communications Programs
Joe Sornberger joined the Canadian Stem Cell Foundation as Director of Communications Programs in April 2013. Prior to that, Joe founded and ran a successful communications consultancy for 10 years whose government client list included the City of Ottawa, Agriculture Canada, Health Canada, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and the Networks of Centres of Excellence. Corporate clients included IBM and Bell Canada. A former manager with the National Post and the Ottawa Citizen, he is the author of Dreams and Due Diligence — Till & McCulloch’s Stem Cell Discovery and Legacy, published by the University of Toronto Press in 2011.
